Pictures and music are an integral support component within my daily life. Pictures allow me to reflect on memories with loved ones who are no longer here on earth, and provide a sense of "home" when posted in my office or classroom. Similar to how we recommend to parents for them to send a photograph of the child's family to ensure comfort and security when in a new environment; the same philosophy is applied within what I need for support.
Music supports be in a variety of ways...it reduces stress, gets me motivated, and provides an outlet to feel emotions that I may not express openly. Music is good for the soul!
The people shown in the video above are family and friends. They are my biggest support system day in and day out. Without their care, love, willingness, and support; I wouldn't be who I am today. Having experienced one of the most difficult things in my life, my support system rallied around me and empowered me to continue pursuing my goals.
Having received the empowerment from my support, I am now on the journey to continue my education and explore fertility options for a unmarried woman who strongly has a desire to be a mother. As the later of the goals hasn't begun, I do think about the challenges I will face when I do start down the path of becoming a mother. Without the strong support of the people in my video, I probably would not pursue achieving the goals. They lend a shoulder to cry on, ear to listen, voice to express opinions and advice, and a heart to love me through it all. The song from Rascal Flatts, "I Won't Let Go" sums up my beliefs on support both giving and receiving! Listen below...
